RE: Shared pool size in Megabytes

RE: Shared pool size in Megabytes

I'm assuming that you are running on 10g.

Here is a list a parameters and there settings(that I think are the major ones):

Initialization Parameter Value

SHARED_POOL_SIZE 0
LARGE_POOL_SIZE 0
JAVA_POOL_SIZE 0
DB_CACHE_SIZE 0
STREAMS_POOL_SIZE 0
LOG_BUFFER MAN
DB_KEEP_CACHE_SIZE DB_RECYCLE_CACHE_SIZE MAN
DB_nK_CACHE_SIZE MAN
SGA_TARGET <= SGA_MAX_SIZE MAN
SGA_MAX_SIZE MAN
PGA_AGGREGATE_TARGET MAN
SORT_AREA_SIZE IGN
HASH_AREA_SIZE IGN
BITMAP_MERGE_AREA_SIZE IGN
CREATE_BITMAP_AREA_SIZE IGN

MAN: Needs to be evaluated and assigned a value.
IGN: Any value assigned will be ignored.

0: if you put a value here then ORACLE will at least reserve that amount of memory.

Hope it helps.

Thanks. Now I am having a problem with my sga. The total size is
135353968 and I need to increase it in order to increase my shared pool
size. How do I fix the sga_max_size so that I can increase the
shared_pool_size?
