A bit late for Friday but:

I cannot speak for anyone else but here we are looking at converting
many of our Oracle databases to SQL Server as it is the cheaper option
for most of our programmes. Comparing just the database software Oracle
is still cost effective for us but as Micro$haft bundle Integration
Services, Reporting Services and Analysis Services with SQL Server 2005
at no extra cost SQL now becomes much more cost effective for reporting/
BI operations. If it were not for Oracle Workflow and DataGuard we would
probably be thinking of phasing out Oracle altogether over the next few
years.

After nearly 19 years of working with Oracle (Oh my, I suddenly feel
very old) I am now having to cross over to the dark side and work with
the products of the Evil Empire. Come on Oracle, sort your pricing
strategy out and be competitive again!
