It partially worked. I was trying to implement Oracle OS authentication.
I have a server where I run a bash script that logs into to the database
from a sql script that contains the user name and password. This user
uses certain objects, triggers, procedures, and tables to create a .dmp
file. In order for me to use Oracle OS authentication rather than using
the sql script to log into the database, I would need to create an
Oracle user with the OS_AUTH_PREFIX value and give this user the same
privileges etc to be able to perform the same tasks as the user in the
sql script. I hope I didn't confuse you.
