RE: Upgrade experiences from 9i to 10gR2

You should have NEVER assumed that your GROUP BY would automatically return
things in sorted order. That it did, in most cases, was a by-product of
how the grouping
mechanism in the Oracle server was implemented, but Oracle itself has
ALWAYS said
to include an ORDER BY if a sort was desired.

Nothing got "broken" in the GROUP BY in going from 9i to 10g.

I hear that GROUP BY no longer does an assumed ORDER BY, you must add them
to your SQL.

We have one guy who is saying he had to change SQL and PL/SQL to get 10g
working. I don't believe him.

Can anyone relate experiences with apps? How difficult was it to get
applications working with 10gR2? Any compatibilty issues?
