Re: Standby Database Issue

Retrieve all the archive log files that are missing,
Register the Archive log files with the standby database. ALTER DATABASE
REGISTER LOGFILE 'path/filename'

All -

I am new to the use of standby databases as a backup alternative (fail-over) and
now there is an issue with one of our standby databases.

Oracle 9.2.0.6.0

GNU/Linux 2.4.31.....

Issue: The standby database failed to apply an archive log (#44612) and the
archive log no longer exists on any system or backup (this is a separate issue).
I assume the database is no longer valid since it has not applied an archive log
for almost a week and several log files have been deleted from the system..

What steps are necessary to get the standby database up-to-date so that it is no
longer looking for archive log #44612?

TIA - any help will be greatly appreciated.

Bill
