Datapump is supposed to give it's performance increase by means of using
multiple threads for processing. In the sample you ran, I don't see
that you are making use of parallel threads.
You could run a single full database export with expdp and run 5 or 10
threads as opposed to the single thread that exp would use.
last year, we had to move a couple databases during limited time. We
ended up using 40 exp jobs, running about 8 to 10 at a time. At this
level, we totally maxed out our network connections and so had the
highest throughput possible. The overall export time was less than if
we did all the exports within one datapump job. However, since I
exported the database in pieces, I had to be responsible for
reassembling the pieces correctly.

No. You are not missing anything. Actually You will not get benefit of
expdp / impdp if you are exporting one or two tables. As expdp / impdp
takes more time to start than exp/imp utilities. It will take less time
when you will do large export and import.

Hi,
The new data pump utilities(expdp and impdp) are supposd to be faster
than old imp and exp utilities in oracle.
But this is not the case on my machine .
exp exported a table in 3 minutes and 30 secs while expdp took more
than 6 mins.
Am I missing something ?
Below are the command used:
