Hello dbas,

Question about installing 10G oracle on HP 11.11 server that already
has oracle 8i installed. Does it matter if one uses the EXISTING
oraInventory directory location or can one use a SEPARATE oraInventory
location for the 10G install? We need to have BOTH oracle versions working
on the server at the same time?

Also.....and here is my BIG worry....if an existing oraInventory location
exists....but there is NO oraInst.loc file WILL THE ORACLE INSTALLER DELETE
THE EXISTING oraInventory directory in order to create the new one?
Unfortunately I cannot test this. I know, that's weird.

Anyway...if anyone has any thoughts I'd appreciate it.
