Irfi,
LINUX is UN*X, just a different 'flavor' of UN*X, one tailored to
meet the demands of an ever-changing world of hardware technology
increases. Yeah, I am the guy that wanted the bleeding-edge ATI
graphics card to work with UN*X, and thanks to the many great people
working with Linus and the LINUX working groups, was able to help me out
when I needed them :)

BTW, I go back to 1994 with Slackware LINUX on my Packard Bell (no
GUI :( ), AUX (Apple UNIX), and SUNOS 4.1.3 (pre Solaris) where the
command-line ruled. I am still a command-line cowboy, what with remote
access, hosted systems and limited bandwidth, which make using GUIs
cumbersome to say the least.

SAVE A GUI... Ride a Command Line :)
