I think you should have used "alter database rename file" to move your datafiles. Anyway the error here seems to be caused by some typo for the file name, may be '/' is missing.

Subject: error in recreating control file
Hi Gurus
I want to change teh location of my database files which i do by recreating the controlfile to trace.
i recreate the .trc file by issuing teh command
SVRMGR> alter database backup controlfile to trace
.
The .trc file created i modify the location of the database files to a different directory.
When i run the .trc file it shows and error
ORA -1503 CREATE CONTROL FILE FAILED
ORA-01565 error in identifying file 'database22/moving/idx_log_history'
ora-7360 : sfifi: stat error , unable to obtain information about file
when i see this file in my database it is not present.
I want to knwo why does the .trc fil contain db files not present n the database.
ALso would anyone help me out how to recreate the control fiel in this case.
Regards
Shadab
