Re: oracle forms

What you want is to define a BLOCK that is based on a table. Use the
block-building wizard
(click on BLOCK, then the green plus sign or the New menu item) to set up
an initial one for you,
that's the easiest. You can always change the result to meet your needs.

oracle forms

hi, I would like to ask you for some help.
I need to create a form and for this reason I use Oracle Forms and Reports;
I would like you tell me if you got knowledge of other product doing same
thing.
I do have a problem because I want to crate a list - a combo box - or
equivalent, that I would like to contain data from a table already built
into tha database - so I need to put a result from a select statement
(select distinct column_x from table_y) into the list, but I cannot resolve
the problem this way. I noticed that using LOV-s (list of value), I can do
some things, but using a text item, not a list item, and things are not all
right because when I have to chose a value from the result of the select
statement, I need to use the main menu to select - "show list".

I would like you tell me if you know a source of examples for the beginning
steps in building oracle forms.

Thank you in advance for your effort.
