Victor,
Materialized views can be automatically kept in sync w/ the master table
by using the 'REFRESH ON COMMIT' option. Also, they are actual tables,
i.e., they take up space in the database. You should take a look at the
'query rewrite' capability of materialized views, as this is a very
useful feature.

Materialized Views are snapshot of data from table(s) at a particular

of time and they are static, meaning data will not change eventhough the
originating tables data changes.
Where as views are dynamic.
