RE: Changing to a new Management Server in Grid Control

Hi.

Can you refer the document you've used to perform that?
I've faced this problem a lot within a test environment. I've tried to
configure just like you did but in the end only a newly installed agent
was being detected.

The reconfiguration of an agent is very far away from the document's
reality in my opinion... Or it's above our mere mortal understanding.

Right now, I've got to stop our production to configure dataguard
because it's hanging and not generating a configuration file. The
windows and oracle. It works fine on other platforms.

Subject: Changing to a new Management Server in Grid Control

Recently, we had to uninstall the Oracle Management Server for Oracle
Grid Control from one server, and install it on another.

Now I am trying to get the various Management Agents on other servers to
point to the new Management Server. There were instructions on Metalink
for changing a configuration file at
AGENT_HOME/sysman/config/emd.properties. However, I changed the file as
instructed, and the agent still isn't showing up in the OMS.

Anyone know what I should try? I guess I could just reinstall all of
the agents...

Thanks in advance,

Brian
