If you are using PL/SQL for your stored procedure, the host command does
not work. It will work from a sqlplus script.
Native pl/sql is not equipped to perform any OS interface. I faced the
same problem some months back and by using java, I created a procedure
and a function to pass commands to the OS. Our requirement was to copy a
word document from a remote sit to the requesting site. I'll be happy to
share the code with you if you like as well as a readme file. Can you
attach documents to Lazy dba email?
