I'm afraid the only way would be to compress and tar each file system with
the db files then use rcp to the target file system.

Be sure to remember to take a backup controlfile from the source to edit on
the target.

Hello DBAS. I need to take a 500 GIG 10.2.2 database from server A and copy
it to server B. 2 ways I am considering (neither are very good)
A) just take a bib export file and import the whole thing (will take a long
long time to run)
B) use a hotback of the database and recover (very quick but not plausible
because server B has a file system (AIX) not compatible with server A
(Solaris).

By any chance does anyone have any other suggestions how to do this
efficiently?
