On HP I'd do ipcs to see if oracle has any shared memory segments pinned
unnecessarily, then ipcrs to let them go - perhaps not enough free,
unfragmented for SGA? Were they shutdown smoothly?

Subject: Patch 8.1.6.3 - some dbs unable to startup

Hi all,

I have recently upgraded to 8.1.6.3 on an IBM RS6000
machine running 32bit. I have 6 dbs on this box, but
for some reason I can only start 3 of them now. At
svrmgrl I type startup nomount and it just hangs. I
have been dealing with Metalink but this is proving
slow.

Has anybody come across anything like this before??

Cheers

Anthony.
