It is a Siebel reference...
EIM = Enterprise Information Manager (EIM) and
IFB = File extension used for EIM configuration file (not sure what it
stands for exactly)
EIM is an Acronym, IFB would be considered a mnemonic.

And these aren't even acronyms... they're mnemonics.
Still would be nice to know what they are...

Subject: EIM question
When we run our EIM it's set in our ifb file for 5000-50999 which is
supposed to commit every 1000 records. Our developer has coded the
batches so it uses oracle sequence numbers so it keeps changing and it
resets only after reaching 50999. In our 10G environment we have seen
this hang the
database, but in 8i this was fine. The fix was to change the ifb file
so
only two batches are executed. Does anyone know why this doesn't work
in 10G, but does in 8i?
