Check v$lock, v$session, v$process and get the session (SID, SERIAL#)
that's holding the lock on your table... kill that session and be excited
for the user response... can be quite funny sometimes... har, har!!

Hi all ,

While trying to alter the table i got this error . what can i do to get
rid of this.

alter table jcal drop column end_date

ERROR at line 1:
ORA-00054: resource busy and acquire with NOWAIT specified
