Hi,

I have a huge database in archive mode. The hot backup take 40 hours long (serial copy). The archive in that period is 250G.
If the database fail, I need to recover roll forward all archive files.
My question, if I make an "alter system checkpoint" & "alter system switch logfile", does it cause the recover starting from this point?
