But surely you're not trying to install this onto any of your live servers
before installing onto at least a test / development box, so there should be
no impact on your users.

Subject: Installing Forms 10g
Hi all,
I am trying to install Forms 10G for development (and upgrade from 6i) Just
into the installation, I am asked for type of installation (J2EE or
Complete) and I select Complete - the developers don't need Jdeveloper, nor
the XML toolkit - they want Forms developer.
The next thing is that "Install has detected that this host has a system
wide tnsnames.ora file....". I cannot follow the suggestion (rename that
file, install and merge the results) as the tnsnames is system wide. ie
there are about 25,000 users on a couple of hundred databases and they might
just get pissed at me if I did that.
So, how can I install forms 10 development?
