Oracle on any flavor of UNIX or Linux will always be faster than on Windows.
We've done test on similar hardware and found that a sample of 2 million
inserts was tremendously faster.

Linux Kernel is much faster than Windows.
More Secure than Windows, and thing i so much like about Linux, there is no
registry.
