Hi All,

I'm reposting this question as I have had problems with my email system
today which resulted in not receiving any external emails, so apologies to
anyone who may have already replied and if you did, can you resend your
reply.

Many thanks

Subject
V$SESSION_WAIT - P1 field - Data or Temp File ?

Hi All,

The P1 field in V$SESSION_WAIT view contains the File# of the file being
accessed for 'direct path read' wait events, and other file I/O wait
events for that matter.

How can I determine if the File# is for a Data or Temp file as defined in

the V$DATAFILE and V$TEMPFILE views, as they can both use the same
File#s ?

I've searched the documentation and cannot find the answer to this.

Thanks Phil
