Wow, check this out.
Didn't DEC/Compaq just get this done and Veritas has been working on it for
a while now?

Subject: File System for Oracle 9i RAC
For those of you who are experienced at raw partitions on Oracle (9i
RAC) and are satisfied with the ability to manage this environment (w/o
a file system), then this may not apply. For those of you who would
like a file system underneath Oracle (9i RAC) so as to better manage
this DB environment, the following information applies.
PolyServe's ODM enabled file system will enable both your Oracle and x86
platform to run faster. Additional by products of this technology will
introduce an extremely efficient collaboration between storage and
servers ... with significant increases in availability, scalability, and
manageability for not only servers and storage, but applications and
databases.
Please take a look at the attached white paper as we would appreciate
your feedback on PolyServe's File System for Oracle 9i RAC. PolyServe's
first release will be on Linux and will be generally available to the
market in Q1. We are beginning Beta testing in 2 weeks...if you are
interested.
