RE: Compilation on execution ?

RE: Compilation on execution ?

You will not see all objects valid + enabled all the time - database schema
changes, startup/shutdown , etc will invalidate objects - invalid does not
mean incorrect necessarily just invalidated or not validated (word smiting)
- here is a script to run that will create a script that you can then run to
compile all invalid objects in the database - you might have to slightly
modify the script depending on the version of oracle you are running - enjoy
and take care

Subject: Compilation on execution ?

Hi

I'm supporting an application, that as part of the overnight batch run
triggers + procedures become invalid. (350 + objects)

Now the consultants implementing the system say that's fine as the trigger
and subsequent procedures will be compiled on next execution.

Surely this is an overhead on transaction time, further more I'm concerned
about this and would like to see all objects valid + enabled all the time.

Any thoughts or experience's anyone ?

TIA

Mitch
