RE: Compilation on execution ?

RE: Compilation on execution ?

Yes... And I Answered That As My First Word In My previous Mail ....

When The triggers call the procs... Then Automatic recompilitaion will take
place...

But pls be aware of this.

If Proc A Calls Proc B and and B calls C and C Calls A Then it will Fail...

I know how to compile the schemas etc, but I was querying the concepts of
re compilation on execution !

The triggers call procedures which are also invalid, and I was questioning
whether an implicit compilation of the procedure will be activated when the
invalid trigger fires.

Surely This is a Overhead ...

U can check the %ORACLE_HOME%/RDBMS/ADMIN Directory for utlrcmp.sql.... And
Recompile all the Invalid Objects in your Schema....

Subject: Compilation on execution ?

Hi

I'm supporting an application, that as part of the overnight batch run
triggers + procedures become invalid. (350 + objects)

Now the consultants implementing the system say that's fine as the trigger
and subsequent procedures will be compiled on next execution.

Surely this is an overhead on transaction time, further more I'm concerned
about this and would like to see all objects valid + enabled all the time.

Any thoughts or experience's anyone ?

TIA

Mitch
