Not sure why it would complain at the shutdown time, but there are some
'socket' files in the /tmp/.oracle directory. And these are not removed by
Oracle.
Please check Note:1050601.6 on Metalink for details.

Subject: UNIX tmp directory
Anyone know what use Oracle makes of the UNIX /tmp directory during
shutdown.
I had a shutdown fail due to the /tmp directory being full.
What does Oracle write there? Can the files be written to another location
using some parameter?
Thanks.
