Hi DBA's,

I am getting the following error:

TNS-12637 : Packet recieve failed

when I try to connect the database from the client
m/c thro SQL*Plus or TAOD. But, if I am able to
connect from the server itself.
I checked the LISTNER status its shows as follows:
<SID> has 1 service handler(s)
<SID> has 3 service handler(s)

When I restart the LISTNER, Its shows the status as:
<SID> has 1 service handler(s)

At this time if i try to connect from the client
m/c, got connected only at the first time. After that
it is Not connecting and giving the same error.
When I check the status if the LISTNER at this time
it shows as follows:
<SID> has 1 service handler(s)
<SID> has 3 service handler(s)

why this is happening???.. Please suggest me on the
same.

My server config. : Window 2000 server family.
Database : Oracle 8i (8.1.6 Standard Edition)
