Hi Ben,

You can look at v$rollstat and query columns like hwmsize, aveactive to
determine how active you rollback segments are during normal and high
activities. Based on these numbers you should be able to decide on a
optimal
size that is indeed optimum. What are the other processes that are using
rollbacks at the same time as the batch jobs ? One possibility is that
there
are OLTP jobs that are using rollbacks and they are interfering with the
batch jobs.

Hi all,

Is it preferrable to installed Oracle from the CD for each machine or is
it okay if the binaries are copied from another installation? Is there
anything that installing from CD will provide you that copying from
another machine will not?

For example, I am creating a standby machine from a primary machine.
Would there be any problems if I just copy all the binaries from the
primary machine and place them on the standby assuming all file system
are the same.

Thanks.
Henry
