Hello everybody,

I am kind of new in this dba business and I need your expert advice.

My 8.1.6 database on unix is generating in cdump directory a lot of core files and directories;there are also other old core files/dirs.

My questions are : when and why are generating these files;

what to do with them (is safe to delete them and when)

could you advice me to a good link to learn more about them

cmd for deleting the old core /dirs.
