What datafiles need recover?
Try to recover them without restoring from your backup

Subject: SO URGENT!!
A datafile was added to an existing tablespace on our live database and
a short while after that the datafiles in the tablespace are now
indicating that they will need media recovery.
I am running Oracle 8i on Windows 2000. The database is in archivelog
mode and I have a cold backup from last night.
Would the best method be to restore the datafiles from last night and
then to alter database recover until the point of failure??
Many Thanks
Joy
