Could not find much information about partitions on the web so I am going to ask a few questions
What is the concept of partitions?
How do you build partitions?
How do you name partitions?
I have heard that partitions can be "activated" and "deactivated". What exactly is this?
Is there a maximum # of partitions for a table/tablespace/schema?
Thanks

If I clearly understand you have to create the customer tables every
month to store the data in that particular month ! Why cant you use the
table
partition option to store the data separately in their respective
paritions ! In
this way you can even dynamically add paritions for the respective
months and at
the same time you dont have to change the underlaying program codes as
you
will be logically querying from one table only ! Hope this solves your
problem ! You have to name only the partitions according to the months !
