RE: quest spotlight opinions

IMHO, I think Spotlight is awesome. It is a good tool to find out
at-a-glance where your bottlenecks are within the DBMS. It's best for a
high-level graphical overview at any given point in time, but if you need to
drill down into the details - it's got plenty of that too. It's "moving"
interface and cool-looking layout is what visaully separates it from other
tools.

My only beef, is that is doesn't record historical events, but it does
snap-in to a bigger, much more expensive component called I/Watch. I/Watch
is a central data gathering and event-driven, alerting system which can call
other snapped-in products like Storage Manager, SQL Expert and Spotlight to
diagnose problems, provide solutions and automatically fix storage problems.

Quest's products are Muy Expensivo, but it's worth the investment.
