Ram,

Yes it is possible to reverse engineer in Designer 6i.

I'm going to assume that you are logged in and understand workareas and
users, so we don't need to set that up.

Once you're logged in, choose RON (Repository Object Navigator).

On the left side of RON, the 3rd icon down is a green "+" symbol and a
small white square. Click on that icon.

When you are asked if you want an "Application Systems" or a "Folder",
choose "Application Systems".
Give it a name, I called mine "lazydba example"

Close the RON window.

Now choose "Design Editor". Start with the "Server Model".

In the "Server Model-Navigator" window click on the "DB Admin" tab. What we
are doing here is creating a "dummy" database. I used to use the default
database but was never successful in when trying to include entities in my
ERD after retrofiting. (we'll do that later).

Click on the "+" to expand whatever name you used in RON.

Right click on "Oracle Databases" and choose "Create Oracle Database".
I type in a unique name and called the database "LAZY", and then I click on
"next".
On the next screen I click on "Finish". This will create a default "user1"
user.

Now we are ready to "suck in" the database we want to reverse engineer.

Cont on Part 2
