RE: Listener.ora - EXTPROC

RE: Listener.ora - EXTPROC

Indeed, but you can avoid this by registering your listener at another port
than 1521, e.g. 1522
Database will be registered automatically when listener is running against
port 1521 only.

In the later versions of Oracle, I think 8.something and up, the database
will register itself with the listener on startup.

Subject: Listener.ora - EXTPROC

Hi,

In my inherited listener.ora file, I have an entry for EXTPROC. My database
is not listed, but when I run lsnrctl stat I see my DB has 1 service
handlers. How is this??

Cheers,

Anthony.
