We've recently had to do a restore and recovery
using RMAN. We notice that it took about 36 seconds
to apply an archive log.

Can anyone tell me how we could improve that performance ?
What speeds up the application of archive logs ?

We have 3000 to apply, so it would take about 15 hours.

I don't have the machine specs at the moment, but if
any one has ideas I'd appreciate it.
