Probably we will have to reboot the server because apparently there was some
corruption on the volume group. They unmounted the file systems and did an
export/import of the volume group, then a fsck of the fs and mounted it
again and the problem persists.

Look like the background process for database writer could not start for the
instance. Shutdown abort and look at your disk problem again.

HELP!

Trying to bring up a couple of databases (8i AIX 4.3) after a disk problem
we get this error:

ORA-03113: end-of-file on communication channel

In the alert we got this error:

DBW0: terminating instance due to error 204
Instance terminated by DBW0, pid = 282592
