I m working on data loading from Fixed length flat file to Oracle using utl_file.

1. I want to know before hand all possible defects with input flat file which need to be handled,

Pls let me know the possible defects with input file from ur experince on the same,

2. About error logging mechanism :

Which one will be the best approach :
- logging in OS file
or
- inserting into table & generating report from the table log data,
