Hi,

We are having a 8.0.4 database running on a Sun ultra
enterprise 3000 server(solaris 2.6).

I need to migrate this database on to a HP-UX 11
server running ORACLE 8.1.7 which is not connected to
the Sun server(I can't ftp).

My plan is to export the db and copy the dump file to
a DLT tape. Then take the tape to the HP server and
copy the dump file from tape and import dump file into
the 8i database created on the HP server.

I request all of you to point out any trouble spots in
my plan and I also welcome sharing the experience of
those who has already done similar types of migration
as I have never done this before.
