Afternoon All,
We are looking at moving our database onto 9i RAC. We also have
to upgrade our servers and are looking at Sun. Specifically we are looking
at a 3 node Sun V880 (4 cpu, 8 gig mem) RAC cluster for production, with 2
standalone V880s for dev/test. Plan is to 'rob' test or dev and expand the
cluster to 4 nodes if our user base expands suddenly. Has anyone done
this? If so did it scale? Has anyone done this on another platform, say
HP or Linux, and scaled the cluster out horizontally by adding more boxes?
Interested in both good and bad experiences. Vendor employees need not
reply ;-)
