Re: What is the best Oracle Forms book?

its the best of a weak group. Here is my take.

lulushi's book covers the most stuff. However, its VERY poorly written and unorganized. However, its the only reference book out there and oracle does not provide documentation. You will find yourself using the help ALOT if your using this book.

Dorsey and Kloetkze have a book called advanced forms and reports. It doesnt cover the 'how tos', its more of an approach. I liked it, but its NOT a reference book.

There is another book called Forms Developer Techniques which is about 150 pages. For $35 its over priced. However, it has alot of nifty tricks and ideas to make your forms. I never bought it. I read it in the book store.

That is about it. I think there is one other 'thin' oracle forms books which is good for a quick start. I forget the name.

You will spend ALOT of time in the help due to the lack of documentation. Apparently oracle felt that since they added a help section they didnt need to provide docs. The help is excellent btw.

Id also recommend downloading the demo. Hardly anyoen takes me up on this. Its loaded with reusable code. Lots of examples and ideas including drag and drop, embedded excel in forms, and a pick list(its pretty slick). Its a GREAT way to learn forms.
