Sir,

Currently I am using oracle 8i on window NT. Database
is running in 'no archive mode'. Now I am interested
to convent into archive mode.

I had read the Dba book , tried but some problems are
there. May be I have skipped some step.

svrmgr> connect [Email Address Removed] log list
shutdown immediate
startup mount erp
alter database archive log
alter database open
alter system archive log start

I had changed the parameter file
log_archive_start=true
log_archive_desc_1 -> location=d:\oracle\ora81\RDBMS\

May be i had missed some step.
please send all step wise proper solution , I will
thankful

when I am importing my data into this database.

Warning the following error occured during oracle redo
log archival .

oracle instance erp cannot allocate log , archival
required. press <enter > to acknowledge message.
