urgent - is there any way to circumvent password policy

urgent - is there any way to circumvent password policy

I need to reset a p/w back to it's original setting.

We have a p/w policy in place which prevents reuse of passwords - which is
great until a helpdesk user changes a password in the wrong database ...

Is there an easy way to do this ?

cheers,

Nick.
