Re: DATABASE FROZED

Re: DATABASE FROZED

Unfortunately, Yes. Try metalink note 215858.1 where the use of hanganalyze is offered. I believe this might help in your situation, next time.

I'm currently supporting an Oracle 8.1.7.2 64-bit database running on a
HP-9000 N-class Unix server. The OS is HP-UX 11.0 Yesterday afternoon,
the database, for lack of a better description, became frozen. Any
attempts to connect to the database simply went into a hung state. Any
select or DML statements went into a paused state. The alert log showed
no errors, warnings of any time at the time of the failure. My only
recourse was to perform a shutdown abort of the database and to start it
back up.

Has anyone run into a similar situation?
