RE: 9.2.0.5 on linux

RE: 9.2.0.5 on linux

Edit /etc/redhat-release and put the appropriate version of redhat that the
oui is looking for in
Should look something like " RedHat Release 3.0 (liberation)".
If you do a search on dogpile.com you should find the correct version
numbers and name

Subject: 9.2.0.5 on linux

I just tried to update my 8.0 redhat from oracle9204 to oracle9205 and
received the following message:

Checking operating system version: must be redhat-2.1, UnitedLinux-1.0,
redhat-3, SuSE-7 or SuSE-8
Failed <<<<

I'm getting the impression that oracle won't install on redhat unless
you buy the expensive redhat.
Anybody else getting that impression?

Best Regards,
Daniel
