The environment from which you are trying to connect to is not properly set. Look at ORACLE_HOME, ORACLE_SID, and PATH and make sure they are correct.

Hi All,



We are facing a typical problem.



I'm running a database (Oracle 8.1.7) on a HP-UX machine.



When I start the server, it shows the database is up and running. But
once I try to login from other machines, it throws following error.



ERROR:

ORA-01034: ORACLE not available

ORA-27123: unable to attach to shared memory segment

HP-UX Error: 22: Invalid argument

Additional information: 1

Additional information: 7404



Please advice.
