Dear Gurus :
In Oracle 10G or RAC cluster environmeents, Oracle claims that they
support TAF (Transparent Failover). In the JDBC OCI driver they support
select statements failover. But they do not support INSERT, UPDATE or
DELETE statements. In their OCI call back routines, they notify
exceptions and applications has to replay the queries / transaction.
Why or what prevents Oracle in implementing the inflight transactions
(replay the queries / transactions) without the need for the application
to execute it. Are there are any implementation defects / or drawbacks
in the TAF design that they are not able to implement it.
Please post your views in this regard.
Thanks and Regards
