Hi All,

My question is can we use inconsistent backup (Hot backup) for Standby database installation/configuration? i have configured a Standby database with consistent backup (Cold backup=closed database) few months ago with downtime of 1 hour. But i have read an article in which hot backup is used for standby database. If its possible then its a good news! since my database size is very big ~ 14GB is 24 X 7 i.e. can not afford downtime even for 10~20 min.

So kindly provide me some information about it and precautions related to it.
