RE: Oracle 9I RAC installation.

RE: Oracle 9I RAC installation.

I run RAC with NFS - but I use Linux.

The installer must sense a cluster so it will start the RAC installation -
this is true for linux so I believe it will be for solaris.

I chose not to do the copy install where u install on one machine and it
copies to the other.

I did 3 full installs on each machine and then linked them all together. I
found that much easier and worked much better

Subject: Oracle 9I RAC installation.

Hi Folks,

I am going nuts trying to install Oracle 9I RAC on a couple of Solaris
boxes. The main problem is that I am being asked to do a very
non-standard install. I am not using Sun CFS or Veritos, I am using a
disk NFS mounted between the two machines, I am not using rsh, but ssh.

I can't even convince the installer to give me a RAC option. I am not
sure what the installer is looking for to tip it off that RAC is possible.
Does anyone have any suggestions, aside from "Use Sun CFS, don't use NFS,
and use rsh".?

Thanks very much.
