RE: SIDEBAR: IT'S BEEN A TERRIBLE WORKING DAY ....

This isn't really that different than what happened on the late-80's's when everybody was taking pay cuts and lay-offs. The employers that stuck it out with their employees and treated them well gained some degree of loyalty and are doing better today. The ones that jumped on the bandwagon and screwed their employees suffered the brain drain and trust issues. These businesses became less self-reliant and therefore vulnerable.

History is repeating itself! After a period of time this off-shore trend will show it's ugly side (duh, people thousands of miles way that have no vested interest in the job at hand; that don't understand the business) In the future These same company's will be scrambling for "on-site", or at least domestic help and will suffer because of the backtracking they will have to do. The advantage will be the ones the "stayed the course".

It's just history repeating itself with a dash of greed.

My two cents

Dave.

Thanks to all for the support. I'm not worried about it at all. The market
in the south is picking up and I'm already getting calls from Recruiters.

Its time for a change.

Not in any way to make light of your situation...there
is FAR too much of this going on...

But, just thought....in your documentation..write
everything WRONG....

When the job doesn't get there and can't get
done...maybe it will come back...
:-)

Forcing you to document/train your replacement is
horrible...it's worse than having to get a switch from
a tree for your parents to give you a whooping...

Good luck in your new job search...one good thing is
that the economy does seem to be improving and I'm
seeing new jobs here and there...so, hopefully, you'll
find something even better quickly!!

Light travels faster than sound. This is why some people appear bright,
until you hear them speak....
