I thought the original question is he wants to move to Postgres, so
really, the
10g one is just a plus if it got some features to make it less tedious to
extract record from Oracle into ASCII flat files ...
10g upgrade is not really necessary so long as it can read the Oracle8i export
dump. I know 10g can't connect to 8.1.6 databases anymore on my end here but
whether the same issue applies to export/import is another thing to
look at ...
