Hi List,

I have some doubts regarding Replication Process.

1] What is the benefit of replication ? I mean since
its a complex process, is it more preferable than the
back ups.
If you have proper backups then you can restore it
with little time.

I want to implement a snapshot replication with
replication topology like below

one publisher - one distributor - one subscriber.

I have available three servers with SQL 2000 running.

I understand that I need to set up the Distributor
first.I read some help topics on using the publishing
and Distribution wizard but I couldnt understand how
to set up the distributor first.

Also what is the state of PUB , SUB DBs when one of my
SQL servers has to stop or fails.
